As a full time author, my working day can often be fairly solitary, but every now and again the opportunity comes up to get out and about and meet some some lovely readers, and others writers too. Saturday the 9th March was one such day.

As part of the Tamworth Literary Festival, the town's library hosted a Meet The Author event, and I was very fortunate to be able to attend, along with a whole host of other talented writers. Not only did the day provide the chance to meet up with some wonderful readers who have followed my work for some time, but to also chat to new readers, about my own writing and also the wonderful world of books in general.

The setting was fantastic, right in the centre of town, and the library...

This week is National Libraries Week, and what better way to show your love of libraries than to write a book about them… So I did.

I’ve been quite vocal in the past about my love of libraries. In fact, in April of this year I was invited to write a guest blog post for the lovely Anne Williams. I had recently given a talk in my local library to support the launch of my (then) latest book, Turn Towards The Sun, and had promised Anne a review of that event. When I sat down to write the post however I realised that it was not the story I wanted to tell and it became something else entirely. Anne has very kindly agreed to let me link back to her site, so you can read that original post here.

So I have a new book coming out very soon! I'm delighted to share the news that Lucy's Book Club for the Lost and Found will be with you all on the 24th November, and look what a beautiful cover the team at Bookouture has designed!

This is such a special book for me, and I can't wait for Lucy to tell her story and to introduce you all to the wonderful characters who have shared the last few months with me. I'll admit I cried buckets over this one (nothing unusual there cries anyone who knows me), but it really has been a love affair from start to finish. I hope it will have a special place in your hearts too.

Readers of my blog posts will know that we had a pretty traumatic time last year moving house. And about a month ago we did it again!...

I honestly never want to have to move again, but this time thankfully its for keeps, (unless of course it's to a little cottage by the sea, but don't tell anyone I said that... ) Like many writers I've been perched on the kitchen table or the settee, balancing my laptop for years, but no longer....

Yesterday, there was great excitement because my new writing cave was delivered... and judging from the response from people to my posts on social media, I'm not the only one who's excited!

It's very definitely work in progress, as is the garden it sits in, but I don't care...  It's my little creat...

So today was the day I've been waiting for for a very long time....

Those of you who have read previous posts will know that last year wasn't a great one. It was hugely emotional for so many reasons, but through it all I was determined that the one thing that shouldn't suffer was my writing. And in a way it was the thing that kept me going, the thing that I could throw all my energy into and hope that it bore fruit. There was also another reason why it was so very important - you see, when my mum died I was finishing off the edits for Turn Towards The Sun and just missed out on being able to dedicate it to her. I was heartbroken she wouldn't be here to see it published, and so I vowed that the next book would be for her......
