Lowri’s eyes trace what remains of the ancient tower up into the sky, ivy twisting and turning round its crumbling base. It might be a ruined castle but its beauty still shone through. And if she rebuilt the castle maybe she could finally give her little girl the one thing they’ve been searching for… a home?

Lowri Morgan, though still heartsoreat the loss of her young husband Alun two years ago,is finally trying to build a new life. It’s the hardest thing she’s ever had to do, but she needs to be strong for their little daughter Wren, the light of her world. But then, hidden amongst the very last pile of Alun’s papers, Lowri finds an official-looking letter, and her whole world shifts…

Alun had a secret inheritance, and somewhere called Clearwater Castle was apparently hers, and, in time, Wren’s. Head spinning in shock, Lowri can’t believe he had kept this hidden. But she decides that she must uncover the truth, and at the very least, find out what they’re dealing with…

Arriving at distant Clearwater, Lowri discovers no fairy-tale. The castle is near-derelict, and her responsibilities – as outlined by the ruggedly handsome but prickly local stonemason Huw – are overwhelming. But the beauty of the place, with its ancient trees and peaceful millpond, begins to breathe new life into her. And as she watches her daughter running barefoot through the fields with a smile on her face, Lowri knows she has to do what she can to save this crumbling ruin, the only thing left to her little girl…

Lowri never asked for a new start, but as she and Huw reluctantly begin to work together sparks start to fly between them too. But can she really open her heart to someone again? And when answers to the question of Alun’s secret inheritance begin to be revealed, Lowri is forced to question everything… will she and Wren have to leave Clearwater Castle behind for good?
